Well my body wants nothing to do with running again today. I think my lunches and general carb intake have been lighter than usual and so my energy level is lower. I am starving right now and the last thing I want is to try for 8 again. A lot of stuff going on with work this week and so I am just mentally exhausted. I might try for it tomorrow and do my long run on Sunday…but I may just skip...

When your body says no, it means no
You know those days when your body just doesn’t want anything to do with a run? Even with Tylenol in me, my shins and legs were hurtin and my energy level was at an all time low. I decided it best to switch and use up my 4 mile lifeline today and try for the 8 again tomorrow. Every part of me appreciates this decision.

Proud that I had my workday,babysat till 830, and then went for my run.
Long day but proud I still got my 4 miler in! It was so cold today but it wasn’t so bad to run in actually…I haven’t had a bad run in a like 10 days now—I feel like its coming any moment now! I’m surprised my body ran so well tonight since I realized after that I drank only a glass of water...

5k to marathon in 366 days
I realized today that on memorial day weekend last year I ran my first 5k in 6 years? And that same day this year, I’ll be running my first marathon. If you don’t think that’s crazy, then you’re crazy.
What a drastic difference a year has made. To think I have (hopefully) 60 or so years ahead of me. I can only hope each year brings something new and as productive as this...

I couldn’t be happier right now. That run was awesome and such a big milestone for me as its my longest run yet of my life. 26.2 here I come!
Honkers gonna honk
I always mean to write this post but never get to it. What’s with the honking, people? Now that the warm weather is out, I’m now wearing my extremelyyy flattering spandex shorts that go past my knees. There was a good amount of exaggeration in that “extremely” if you didn’t catch that. So I guess those six inches of skin showing on my leg is pretty attractive, I guess...
Trail running
Yesterday I decided a nice trail run would be great for my 4 miler. I used to love trail running so I thought it might be nice to get back on the trails now that spring is sprouting. But…..
A few notes to remember before I run on trails:
-You must run and plan to be finished running before dusk. Oooops.

Thankkkkk goodness for today’s run. It was a perfect 7 miler and put me at ease for my 15 on saturday.

Soaking in the sun
Amaaaaazing weather in new england today. High 70s—perfection. I’m glad I got my long run in though yesterday because I’d much rather be running in high 50’s than high 70’s.
Taking the new bike (that I bought in January) out for a spin today! I have no helmet and little balance so this should be interesting. I tried to buy a helmet earlier today to find out they cost...

Distance over speed
So this week I got a little carried away with my speed. Not that I was going really that fast, but probably at least a minute/mile faster than I expect to do at the marathon.

So both Garmins were out of battery for the run tonight so before I went I quickly google mapped a circle I often do and thought it was about 3.8 or so so I went with it—-ended up mapping it again when I got home and saw it was only 3.5—bummer. Oh well.

My body has felt like crap all day for several different reasons and I think I’m still going to try for a laid back 4 miler. It’s raw and cooooold out but it’ll be nice to be back in the good ol’ spandex again… I think. Hoping my stomach ache doesn’t manifest into something unmanageable two miles away from hoooome! :)
